Facing elimination and down 6-0 going into the 7th (last) inning, UW Husky Softball scored 7 runs on 3 doubles/three singles (including 5 balls to the wall), a walk, and an error to beat the McKneese Cowgirls 7-6.

Key was a bases-clearing double by Sammi Reynolds to knot the score at 6-All. Madi Huskey (yes, that's her name!) followed with her second hit of the rally to knock in Reynolds to take the lead 7-6.

The Huskies, thanks to a great defensive play by Sami Reynolds and a solid pitching performance by Brooke Nelson, were able to close out the Cowgirls in the bottom of the 7th.

ESPN reported, "Since 2000, teams were 5-903 when trailing by 6+ runs in the NCAA tourney. And none had rallied from 6 down in the final inning. @UWSoftball JUST DID THAT!" Those are monumental odds!

I was there!!!!

UW faces Louisiana in a Super Regional at Husky Softball Stadium starting on Friday, with the winner of two out of three going to the Women's College World Series (WCWS). Go Dawgs!
