We will soon be moving to Seattle and are very excited about it!!! We love city life and are looking forward to all the cultural aspects of the area. That said...any advice on restaurants and things to do and see would be of great assistance.

Please include music, concert venues, live theatre, movie theatres, book stores, areas to walk or bike and of course every great restaurant you can think of. (Oh, if you know of good places for breakfast and also for vegetarian dining please add that as well.)

Thanks

Since I'm into jazz I find Seattle a great place for it. For live jazz my favorite spot is the Pampas Room at El Gaucho. Also Tula's is great for jazz and also Jazz Alley.

My favorite Seattle Restaurants:
Wild Ginger - www.wildginger.net
The Flying Fish - www.flyingfishrestaurant.com
Sunfish on Alki Beach for cheap fish & chips - I highly recommend the halibut & chips
The Coastal Kitchen for breakfast
The Icon Grill
Marjorie
Cafe Flora in Madison Valley(meatless w/vegan options)www.cafeflora.com
Kingfish Cafe - The best southern cuisine in the nw

Annual events I love to attend:
Macy's Christmas Parade/Tree Lighting
Christmas Ships around the Sound
Mount Baker Christmas tour of the homes
Magnolia Christmas tour of the homes
Seattle International Film Festival
Earshot Jazz Festival
Bite of Seattle
Seafair Hydroplane races/Blue Angels
Seattle Flower and Garden Show
Central Area Garden Tour
Zoo Tunes(concerts at the Woodland Park Zoo)
Nordstrom Half Yearly Sale (Flagship store downtown)
Seafair Torchlight Parade
Port Townsend Jazz Festival
Vancouver International Jazz Festival (a must)
Tulip Festival (Laconner)
Opening day of the boating season
Sunday's on Pike Place.....
