Seattle ranks 3rd in the country as the most desirable place to live according to a recent Pew Research Center survey.

Pew Research Center: For Nearly Half of America, Grass Is Greener Somewhere Else

Denver ranked number 1 overall, followed by San Diego. Silly Americans living in the East and Midwest have this romantic notion of the Wild, Wild West: open sky, mountains, low taxes, low cost of living, low crime, plentiful jobs, lots of fun outdoor activities, lots of white people and a more friendlier environment for those of the conservative political and Christian faith.

Live in Denver, San Diego or Seattle and you will see that many of the social ills are not that much different from New York, Cleveland or Milwaukee. If you want a real rugged Western experience: try Wyoming or remote sections of Idaho.

The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence...true that.

And wherever we go, we're humming " Smells like Teen Spirit".

When I was a teenager in Oklahoma, I wore flannel shirts and hummed Smells Like Teen Spirit.

I do neither now. Just for the record.

But I do so love fleece.

...And if I'm not mistaken, a further line to that song is " I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars."
