When I lived in Seattle, I always loved jogging by the water in the summer whether it be the Sound, in one of the neighborhoods close to downtown, Greenlake or Lake Washington. They are some of the best memories I have. I loved it so much I made the move to live with it daily (sun and jogging). I now live with permanent sun down in Santa Monica and even though I jog year round by the water it doesn't feel as wonderful and gorgeous to me as these old memories. Maybe because a sunny day is just another sunny day here. When it is sunny in Seattle it is stunning, combine that with exercise and it was paradise for me. Maybe things are better in contrasts.

I also love fireplaces and hot drinks (coffee, tea) on a rainy day and shopping, shopping, shopping anywhere in Seattle second hand or brand new is fun.

I also miss a good intellectual conversation about anything . . . they are hard to come by down here.

I personally love the Seattle Freeze and still feel wierd when my friends try to establish monthly meetings (almost feels very restraining to 'visit' so much-haha!) and I love people, but love them most in truncated brief moments and then on to hermitville--even in the sun.

Walking around Greenlake, and getting caught in a light rain.
The coffee ( yummy!)
The Seafood ( even yummier!)
The people ( kind and polite)
The views ( mountains and Lake Washington)
..and being able to see my nephews and niece any time that I want to!

- The independant coffee stands.
- The 3 wks of summer is beautiful.
- Driving on the beach.
- The Housing appreciation.
- No need for a water softener.
- Roads with one name, that make sense.
- Easy access to places you want to go, shopping, etc. Everything isn't all spread out.
- Good asian food.

Sometimes 4.

July is usually nice, but it's not a guarantee.

You could be halfway into July before you get a string of sunny days.

September gets pretty chilly, pretty quickly. And the fall rain comes quick.

I have several "first day of school" pictures where my son was in long pants and a sweatshirt.

August is usually gorgeous.

Yup, it is beautiful!

The three weeks of summer = last week in July and the first two weeks in August.
