Interesting article with some interesting proposed solutions. This is a problem that is indicative of many places in the US. This really caught my eye.

"which got prices as low as $149,950 by cutting unit size to as little as 296 square feet"

I guess I'm just another spoiled American.

I know many people in the world live in less space, but 300 sq ft would cause me to go nutz.

Added: good article; kind of a follow on to last years report in the PI concerning being able to live where you work.

I lived in a studio apartment when I was single and it was 325 sq ft - and I loved it - I never felt like I wanted any more

But now that I have a husband and kids - I'm suffocating in the 1350 sqft house

For more eye-opening info, check out the "sound off" comments link at the end of the piece. You'll get some info from locals with real world, real time input rather than people that moved out of here 2 or 3 years ago.

It's worth a read for anyone considering a move to Seattle.

Good find.
