Are you talking about Maximiliens? Maximilien - French Romantic Restaurant - Pike Place Market, Downtown Seattle

I concur if so.

Also, we went to Canlis to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary/my law school graduation, and I recommend it to all who have never been. It is extremely expensive and very fancy... and I loved in when the valet went to fetch our 10 year old corolla from the sea of Mercedes and BMWs. At $370 for the two of us, I doubt I'd go again (especially since we now live a couple thousand miles away) but it certainly was worth the experience. Food was outstanding, service impecable, and atmosphere grand.

This is going back a couple of years, but my wife and I had a pretty nice, romantic dinner at Shea's Lounge by Pike Place Market.

The fact that Canlis keeps showing up as tops is definitely as testament to this eatery. A survey way back in the 1950's would have brougt the same result. That is staying power, without a doubt.

It depends on your likes and dislikes.

The Herb Farm isn't actually in Seattle, but east between Redmond and Bellevue. It's pricey, and while we've eaten at some very pricey places, we never thought their menu deserved the cost.

The Canlis is a premiere spot, (ask for a view seat; I liked our table for two overlooking Lake Union). If you like hustle-bustle, the Metropolitan Grill (downtown) is superior -- it has a New York ambiance, and the steaks are so tender you can cut them with your fork. For seafood, I always liked Ponti's, on Salmon Bay (between Queen Anne and Fremont).

Any would be nice places. Enjoy yourselves!

Yep, that's why I said it was outside the city limits, earlier. Wherever it is, beware the pig.

I also don't want to pay for a meal the size of a golfball because it looks fancy haha. She loves Italian any suggestions?

This Salish Lodge Restaurant is really solid, fancy, amazing service, EXPENSIVE, that is where I got engaged. Seems like everyone in there is getting engaged or celebrating some anniversary.
Canlis is very fancy!
For Italian, Cafe Juanita is good and Spinasse is popular.

Yet another vote for Canlis. One of the 10 best meals of my life was in that place. Very pricey though.

Salty's Sunday breakfast buffet is excellent as well (have not had dinner there).

Those would be my 2 top places.
The Space Needle has a wonderful view for visitors, but is not known (and rightly so) for it's food.
