From what I've read, Canlis is a great choice. Even more costly, but outside the city limits, is the Herbfarm.

The Herbfarm

I haven't been to either.

Be warned ... Herbfarm is about $250 per person.

I heard Herbfarm can be considered rude because they interrupt your meal to tell you how great everything is. I have never been though, just what I've been told. It's a theater experience, in addition to eating good food. Almost like Disneyland.

I'd concur with the Canlis being the fanciest within Seattle.

A restaurant that fancy, and they don't even have a bathroom. ( Can-less, get it?)

I have been to the Herbfarm twice and was never interrupted during the meal on either occasion.

My experience with the Herbfarm was wonderful, and the service is such that you really don't know they are there...not intrusive at all.

It is somewhat of a theater experience in that the kitchens are open to the dining room and you can watch the preparation of the food...but I would not say that it was like Disneyland.

If price is no object I would highly recommend the Herbfarm to anybody!

Although, unless you are just dying to spend a lot, there are *a lot* of excellent restaurants in Seattle, not all of them expensive.

Canlis.

Herbfarm can take up to 3, 4 hours or so, it quickly became unromantic for me.
