When we arrive in July we plan on being in the area for 9 days. Typically, we will stay a few days, drive to another tourist site, find a new hotel and so on.

It would seem that we might be able to possibly stay in one location (two at the most for a change of scenery) while visiting. For the bulk of our visit I am sure we will visit the islands, coast, Ranier, St. Helens, fish market, coffee walking tours, and the driving tour of the wildlife preserve (?). Can we operate out of one location for all that?

What area would you recommend that would be a reasonable drive to it all or most of it and fair price? Plus have family restaurants, shopping, etc.

We are Holiday Inn, Ramada, Clarion, Sleep Inn kind of folks as far as pricing goes.

I am ready to go ahead and at least reserve for a few days so I await any recommendations.

Thank you.

Check out the Ramada in Belltown. Pretty cheap rates there.

I honestly don't know about hotels in the area, but your itinerary will require staying at several different locations in Western Washington.

I just found the official Washington State tourism site, which should give you an idea of the areas that you're looking at. Experience Washington Official Website of Washington State Tourism

Sorry I can't be of much more help.

That part of Belltown isn't bad. 5th Avenue is nice. Just avoid 1st thru 3rd Ave's.
