How on earth are you getting so confused, Willys? Redmond schools in Edmonds, Edmonds schools in Shoreline?

Who said that Shoreline uses Edmonds schools? Shoreline has its own school district and it's huge.

As far as Shoreline being a "good town" ...well, let's just say, keep looking in Edmonds if you can.

Thanks, more later...

Yes, I agree. I like the Edmonds School District.

But the address in that Craigslist ad will not be within the Edmonds city limits. You'll be within the Shoreline city limits and will also be in the Shoreline School District. Unless there's some type of reciprocity agreement between the two districts as there sometimes is with adjacent school districts. I kind of doubt it in this case because the two districts are in different counties but I'll leave that for wythors to answer.

It might be three miles from his house but he's not only in a different city but a different county. He's in Snohomish County and you'll be in King County.

Thanks, dude, more later...

Edmonds abuts Shoreline on it's southern border. That neighborhood of Shoreline is quite nice, but I don't know anything about the schools.

Yeah but that can be scary. Uptown Manhattan actually abuts Harlem!

Thanks for all the help guys. I need cheap till I get a job. I'll keep combing and throwing the advice questions out there!

Ah, ok, you need cheap. I'm fairly certain that generally, you'll find more reasonable rents in Shoreline than in Edmonds ...generally. Shoreline does have some seedy areas. Stay away from the Aurora corridor if you can. It used to be pretty bad but they may have cleaned it up in recent years. I'll leave that for others to comment on.

As we've suggested to others, you'll really get a much better idea and feel once you visit and actually see all these areas we're talking about.

Thanks, more later...

I know. Rent seems to be going up from just a few months ago. Must be a seasonal thing. I need a place to put a U-Haul for a few days. I'll hit the spots Ive learned and get something short term.
It just accured to me. When you guys get sick in the winter it must be a ***** to shake it with the weather. These past few rainy days gave me something and I feel like chit!!

Yeah, that actually is a very good point. It is something that I should mention more when I get into one of my "badmouthing" moods. You're right. It does "seem" more difficult to shake a cold or flu in the wet and cold weather of western Washington.

It also seems more conducive to get these bugs because northwesterners are generally inside more because of the weather and that is what spreads all these viruses whether it be in the workplace, retail stores, or anywhere else where you'd be indoors doing stuff because it's too cold or wet outside. You touch stuff that the infected person has touched or somebody coughs or sneezes and all those little "droplets" are spread all over in the air to breathe or on surfaces to touch.

So, yup, another good reason why I like it where I am.

Oh, was that you I saw on the national news rowing your boat out of your backyard in the flooding conditions? You looked cold and miserable. (aaah, it's 77 degrees and partly cloudy here )

Hope you're feelin' better soon, Willys!

Thanks, more later...
