Hey! I just finished grad school and I'm returning to Seattle after two years in Phoenix. Is there anything new/important that I might have missed out on?

I understand that you can't talk on a cell phone while you're driving anymore, the light rail is opening in about a month, and they decided to get rid of the viaduct and build a tunnel. Anything else?

Thanks!

You missed two years of pretty bad weather. This summer is off to a good start though.

Ground zero for new restaurants and nightlife has moved up the Hill to 12th and Pike. Some buildings and bars have been razed into parking lots. There are slightly less bums around. The South Lake Union neighborhood is finally coming into its own. Downtown sidewalks are full of tourists almost year-round now! They're putting an Olive Garden across the Fairmont. I'm not kidding. Oh and we have a Gucci.

Yep, exactly. That, and the Rock N' Roll Marathon (which is Saturday, BTW)

Oh, and Safeco and WaMu are both gone. Safeco acquired by Liberty Mutual, and WaMu by Chase.

Hey, SonicsFan93, you are kinda fun. I enjoy the banter. Now, what can we do to move the Sac Kings to Seatown?

Contact members of the state legislature, and hope for a special session this fall. Frankly, I don't think I can get by with a yearly Trail Blazers exhibition game (Everyone mark your calendars for October 14th, Blazers vs. Suns at the Key!)
