Hi all, I have lived in Bellevue downtown for a while but I now would love to jump to the mother ship Seattle.

I am looking at renting (maybe buying later) in Denny Triangle around Virginia & 8th, Oliver & 8th, or Westlake & Denny. Is there anyone living around that area and could offer me some tips on how are the
- Close-by restaurants / coffee shops
- Safety at night
- Convenience of public transport / walking to Queen Anne, Capitol Hill and Belltown
- Should I just choose Belltown even though the price is a little higher?

I've toured around the area a little bit. IMHO it feels like an area still "in progress" with a mixture of nice office buildings, condos & apartments. It also seems to be less dense than Belltown & Queen Anne.

Thanks for any info!

Westlake and Denny is a little more ' South Lake Union" and has the Whole Foods right there, the **** streetcar line, and an ever increasing number of restaurants.

The Denny Triangle is probably a little more quiet than Belltown on the weekends but not by too much - it should be plenty fun.

The restaurant selection in downtown Seattle (or close-by) is generally pretty good - I like Hurricane Cafe myself, which is near this area.
- Safety at night
Seattle is safe - period.
- Convenience of public transport / walking to Queen Anne, Capitol Hill and Belltown
Walking= Yes
SLU Trolly/Metro = Yes

They are all nice areas of town.

Good luck! Your comparing districts that are realtively close to eachother and easy to get around.

Thank you guys for the replies!

I went to look at a couple of units around that area (8th & Virginia, Westlake & 9th). I have to say I am a little surpised by the lack of activities there. It was difficult to find an open cafe or restaurant within a few blocks at 6pm Saturday. Even the Motore cafe and Uptown Expresso was closed.

I guess it's because this area is just being developed and it's mainly office buildings. I will take a look at Belltown then.
