There's some bad parts in Federal Way, but overall it is a safe place. General rule of thumb: Live away from hwy 99.

No, I used to live in Dash Point Apartments, and there was a ton of crime there.

The weather reports call those "Sun Breaks."

We actually have hazardous traffic conditions when it's sunny.

Federal Way is generally safe. Some of the apartments are being over run with crime but as a whole the city is safe. Dashpoint, redondo, and browns point are the wealthier areas of the city because of the beautiful views of the sound they offer.

Seattle Freeze~ I moved to Seattle one year ago from Orange County, California. Since I have recently-moved family here as well as family who have been here since the '60's, I haven't been bothered by the Seattle freeze. After moving in, only 1 of my neighbors talked to me & she was from Irvine. Instead of thinking my neighbors are strange or unfriendly, I was thankful they minded their own business and left me alone, Now, they're starting to come around. We all wave and a few of them will converse briefly with me. Perhaps people here are a little more cautious about who they choose as friends?
