So apparently Vancouver is about 140 miles north. This question is for anyone who has driven up there and knows offhand. About how long does it take to drive to Vancouver from Seattle? I was contemplating POSSIBLY driving up there for a day trip while visiting the PNW in Sept. I am used to driving long distances only to turn around again and have heard wonderful things about Vancouver so the distance does not bother me driving. Thanks! Also, if you only have half a day in vancouver, what should you see?

If the traffic and border gods are co-operating, it's about 2 1/2 hours minimum.
What to do there?
Museum of Anthropology
Chinatown
Stanley Park
Italian food on Commercial Drive
cannabis cafes ala Amsterdam ( I've heard this, don't know for sure.)
Wreck Beach ( keep eyes closed if nudity bothers you)
Shopping on Robson Street

Stanley Park.
Vancouver Aquarium, which is in Stanley Park.
Granville Island, for shopping and restaurants.
Walking the Seawall around the shore of Stanley Park.
The most authentic and scrumptious Japanese restaurants outside of Tokyo. Toshi's and Aki are the best; no reservations necessary. Googling will bring addresses amd many more restairamts.
Robson Street.

Stay west in Van for the most interesting and enjoyable places.
