I just drove from NC to Seattle with my van, and my building (which I will be moving out of shortly) doesn't have parking. I don't work, so unless something special happens, most days from 8am to 6pm my car will be here on the street. I cannot pay 2 dollars an hour 10 hours a day until I move. I'm in First Hill, right near the swedish hospital, is there a monthly parking place/garage I can pay for and then pull in whenever I want? Any ideas on how much that will be? Any recommendations?

Thanks guys

Wjen I lived in a wonderful but garageless apartment building in Capitol Hill, the manager gave me a great idea that worked: ask the managers of apartment buildings near yours that have garages or some sort of parking arrangements if you can rent a space for the time you need it. What building manager says "No" to money? It's worth a try, eh?

allforcats is right - I tried this on Dexter last year and it worked. Especially with the bad market - managers will rent out a spot to you...if not, look for the nearest Russians as they always seem to be making deals in back alleys.

There's a surface lot at Boren & James that has a sign up for monthly parking. I think they are charging $150 or so.

Check Craigslist. My buddy got a garage space for $100 a month on Cap Hill.
