If there's one food Seattle does amazingly its Thai.

I vote Mae Phim. They usually win web awards for "best cheap takeout" and such.

Have been to Noodle Boat 2 times on a Saturday night...and went early due to the advise of friends who do takeout from there weekly (because they get so tired of the wait). Tried it on a Friday night as well. Waited well over 1 hour for our food with two boys aged 5 and 7. They are well behaved boys and were crying they were so hungry. There was no apparent reason for the wait either as there were empty tables around as we were there later in the evening. The only reason we stayed was because we thought they weren't busy so the service would be better. Unfortunately no. But the food is really good so if you don't mind waiting and don't have somewhere to be, definitely try it! Still like Lamponi better all around though!!

I second this. it's super cheap and super good!

there's a place in burien (don't cringe, let me finish) called Thai's Corner House, which I think is really good. it's somewhat close to seattle. even more, it's inconveniently located on the SE corner of the road after exiting the 518 (coming from east). not as cheap as Mae Phim, though.

Sorry to bring up an older thread, but if you are in Ballard, go to Thaiku. Great dishes and great atmosphere.

Sawatdy Thai Cuisine - Bainbridge Island/Poulsbo - Bainbridge Island | Urbanspoon

If you are on bainbridge, we like Sawatdy although it looks like a hole in the wall. It is not located near downtown so you need a car. The urbanspoon makes it sound not that great, but we have always had good food there.
