That list made me laugh. I can easily relate to probably 3/4 of it!

Oh also, really, I think the thing with umbrellas (or lack therof) is mainly thatwhile it rains a lot in Seattle, its usually a lighter rain, where a hat or hood is enough to keep you comfortable. That said, it DOES occasionally rain torrentially, and for when it does I'm glad I have one. (Is "torrentially" a word? Well it is now!)

^ ^ LOL… Kinda the same way that eskimos have 50 words for snow, you know you're a Seattleite if you have lotsa words for "rain" (drizzle, mist, scattered, sprinkles, downpour, "torrentially", etc.)!

When Harrier's high school track team traveled to North Bend to compete against Mt. Si High School, we had to wear these ugly uniforms that did not match the school colors(they were uniforms from 15-20 years before - and Harrier was attending this school in the early-mid 1990's).

The reason was that Mt. Si had a dirt track instead of a synthetic track, and the school(or district) apparently didn't want to pay for the uniforms to be cleaned.

Harrier always washed his regular uniform at home and his parents were never reimbursed, so he doesn't understand the issue.

We always beat Mt. Si(who didn't?) but we tended to perform at a lower level, probably because we were wearing those ugly uniforms(and also because we didn't have to be that good to beat Mt. Si).
