I've been with Comcast since we moved here I think mainly because they were the only option. No problems with Comcast, just wanted some opinions on Fios. They have a flyer out for $99/mo for internet, tv and phone with a 1 yr obligation.

While I don't know much about Verizon FIOS, I'm curious what you're getting with Comcast and at what cost?

I had FIOS in TX and found it a good, reliable service with good speeds. They installed it in my neighborhood here last year but the cost is just too high. They basically insist that you get TV, internet, and phone with them -- or at least pay the PRICE of all three. You're going to pry the satellite from my husband's cold, dead fingers, so we're not doing all three with them. The price was absolutely BONKERS per-month especially compared to what we paid in TX, so I'm staying with Comcast. $99 isn't bad -- but that rate will expire, and THEN what's the price?

Yeah I am thinking the cost wil probably be similar to Comcast's after all is said and done. Comcast internet is around $45-50/mo. Cable depends on what packages you order it with, how many receivers you have, if they are DVR receivers or not, etc. We have Vonage for phone so I can't comment on the Comcast phone.

One feature that caught my eye is being able to play recorded shows on other tv's and not just on the tv that the dvr is hooked up to.
