Speaking of the EMP, sadly it was announced today that Paul Allen has non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

I disagree about the buildings being ugly. They are definitely eccentric and the city feels like it is the set for some science fiction movie where probably alien zombies attack or something. The Art Deco and Neofuturism make Seattle a special place.

I was just in Seattle in June. Before I visit a city I go to Emporis.com, which provides photo's of all the individual buildings in that city, from tallest to lowest. I looked through pages of buildings there and there were only two that really excited me. But then, I've never cared much for that post-modern craze of the 80's and 90's, half glass, half stone. Too many of those in Seattle. Thank God they, at least, got the tallest one built before the post-modern craze. One extremely handsome building.

I'm more into pre-post-modern buildings that crowd the skyline of Houston.
But then, their big building boom ended in a crash just before post-modernism took hold. Whew! What a close call that was!

Any list that doesn't include the boston city hall is horribly wrong:

I do like Boston City Hall. Great architecture. They don't make things like that anymore.

I like the EMP building. It does kind of trip me out.

For those that have never gone inside:

I just sat in there for about 20 minutes when I took these tripping out without drugs lol

In my opinion, on of the ugliest buildings I've ever seen is the San Diego Convention Center:
