Hi! I am a Los Angeles native and plan to move to seattle in the coming months. I am looking to get a job at Harborview medical center. However, I have no idea where it would be best to get housing. I don't know what areas are good/bad. Any recommendations would be great!

Welcome LA_2_WA !

If you could narrow it down a little more than just good or bad areas, it would be great. If you've browsed the threads, you'll see that there are a lot of opinions on what constitutes a good area or a bad area. There are LOTS of nice neighborhoods with the Seattle city limits as well as good suburban areas too.

Harborview is easily accessible by a very frequent bus route from downtown and also direct bus service is available from some of the suburbs.

If you could list specific things you are looking for, I'm sure there'd be more responses to your thread. Are you looking to rent? If so, apartment or house? How much do you want to spend? Family? Commute times or methods? Etc., etc.

If you can, browse through the already posted threads to see if you can come up with these more specific questions.

Keep in touch.

You didn't say much about why you are thinking about Harborview, but I'd like to chime in and say there are a lot of medical places you can work. Harborview is owned and run by the University of Washington, so it's a government type place. There is also the Veteran's Affairs hospital in South Seattle that is run by the government but serves a very different population (my wife works there). And there are a large number of private hospitals as well.

I wouldn't rule out any of the hospitals just yet unless you have a specific reason for Harborview.
