Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for your opinions/ advice. We have decided against taking the job in Seattle. We're going to continue to enjoy our great life in the "other" Washington, here in Richland.
Thanks!

Thanks for the interest, but no, we are not selling our home. We've decided to stay here in Richland.

I agree! Stay in the Tri-Cities. I've been stuck in King County for 17 years due to job, family, etc. and I am from Richland. I miss the Tri-Cities and visit every chance I get. There's something to be said for being able to see the sky without so much clutter. People make good points about the Tri-City area also.

Default Too Late

After reconsideration, we are moving to Seattle afterall. Tri-cities has been good to us, but we are moving on to greener pastures (literally) My husband starts his new job there at the end of this month!

This is fascinating. The Tri-Cities, while growing quickly, is still much more affordable than King County. Perhaps someday, this area will become so "hot", (literally and figuritively), that it will become undesirable. But not yet. Sunshine, relatively low real estate prices, and all the chain stores you will find anywhere else. However, not much culture, no major professional sports, etc., but then again, you're simply not that far from it. Good luck on your western move and let us know how you like the change!

"They had to trade in the Honda for an Infinity because the Honda wasn't "upscale" enough for the neighborhood."

Anyone that feels inferior after seeing their neighbor's car probably wouldn't be happy anywhere. If you put bobbles and bling above investing in a home it's likely you'll have to settle for an undesireable neighborhood.
