I saw in one thread a series of pics of seattle in winter. I was wondering if anyone could post any others they might have. I'm just trying to get an idea what people mean when they talk about the clouds and such. I'm moving to seattle from b'ham, al in mid-late august so I'll be getting there right around when the winter weather starts setting in, yes?

In the southeast, we get these days of cloudcover where it's grey with no movement at all, just a thick stagnant blanket. Is it like that or more like a continuous series of fronts where the clouds are constantly moving w/ a breeze, etc?

If I am picturing what you are trying to describe correctly it is a little bit of both, however, it is mostly the former -- it is "cloudcover where it's grey with no movement at all, just a thick stagnant blanket"
