What apartment complexes would anyone recommend for a 1st year male graduate student at UW? I'm not too concerned with noise, but more about the management/staff and how helpful they are to tenants.

I am looking for any suggestions regardless of housing size (studio, 1BR, 2BR, etc)
  • up to $800/mo but the cheaper the better
  • preferably furnished
  • most/all utilities included
  • location between UW and Seattle so its easy to commute to downtown as well as get to class
  • Parking would be nice, but not necessary
  • flexible lease options as I am waitlisted for graduate housing (would accept a premium that puts cost over $800/mo)
If these requirements aren't feasible, please let me know what would be more reasonable.

Also, do apartments in Seattle allow you to rent individual rooms in a 2BR+ apartment or do you have to rent the whole unit and find your own roommates?

I am currently looking at listings on UW's Off-Campus Housing site (https://ocha.asuw.org/) and at one family-owned business recommended by a student contact of my grad school (Private Apartment Rentals near UW (http://www.uwrentals.com/index.html - broken link)). Please provide suggestions for any other good housing sites other than popular search engines (craigslist, rent.com, etc).

That apartment looks awesome! Unfortunately, I forgot to mention though that I am not intending to live in the apartment preferably until September (possibly August) because I am out-of-state. I would like to move in closer to first day at UW to help keep down costs. Thanks for the suggestion!

I have the same issue as well. Someone suggested the epi complex in fremont. I am still waiting on my financial aid package from UW so I can't saw my budget exactly yet.
