My husband had to unload his 96 Dodge Ram with options and it didn't take long to get rid of it. We had a response within hours of posting the CL ad. The buyer was a person who had a big boat and need an extra truck to tow it. The market is there. So it could be possible to sell the truck, but it all boils down to how much you're willing to sell. There's a possibility that you might to accept a loss. Or lend the truck to family and have them take care of it-- that would've been our back-up plan.

Thank you. As for lending the vehicle to family... I'm already doing that with a car I had previous to my truck. It's still in my name, but they're renting from me... I'll hang on to the truck for now. I do know that the blue book private reseller price is higher than what I owe on it, so that's good.

I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this fact out but fuel is WAY more expensive in Seattle than Tennessee. You don't see a lot of people commuting in fullsize vehicles there like you do in the south.

However, Seattle does have excellent transit and you'll get a discounted monthly plan as a student. You can get plenty of places by bike, too. When I moved there I didn't drive my truck for almost a month, it just sat in front of my friend's house while I biked and rode transit everywhere I needed to go. It's just much more possible to get by without a car in Seattle than in the South.

So if you can afford it, keep the truck and park it. You really won't need it to get around. Drive it when you need to haul something or when you want to go sightseeing to other parts of the state. If you want to ditch the payment but still have reliable wheels, sell it and buy a 10-year-old Ranger for $2000 or something.
