Ya but dead people walking around is a liitle fair fetched as well.

It's just a show designed to entertain. Now FYI: Jeffery DeMunn (Dale) asked to be released from the show. So they had to create something in order to get rid of his character.

The show just pisses me off every time I watch it. Zombies attracted to Noise? One of my first stops would be a sporting goods store to stock up on bows and arrows. And to try to make improvised silencers.

Zombies spread there infection by biting and tearing at exposed skin? You wouldn't catch me with nothing less then a carhartt, gloves and head protection when out in zombie infested areas.

Driving an old Beat up RV? And other cars? There should be plenty of dealership with RV's and cars ready for you to take. No excuse for driving anything old or unreliable.

No Gas? Gas station submersible pumps can't get the gas on the very bottom of an empty fuel tank, but you can still get a hand pump to get it out. I'd estimate there 20 to 50 gallons per tank and gas stations have at least 4 to 6 tanks. Plenty of gas in the short term.

Security? Lets set up in the middle of a farm field and hope nothing wonders along and tries to eat us while were sleeping. Fences, nah too much work to build.

I could go on and on.

lol The show actually incorporate various dangerous people into the plot, it isn't just zombies the characters must worry about. It's also raiding groups of psychopaths, madmen, the desperate, random strangers willing to do anything to survive, even kind and honest people who mean well but might make a wrong move and utilize resources ...and of course everyone alive will turn suddenly into zombies if god forbid they choke to death alone in their room.

In fact the main characters are limited in what they can do and where they can go because it's logical to assume at this point months into the Zombie Apocalypse that everywhere protected from zombies (forts, small islands etc) are probably already claimed by dangerous people with guns. (Personally I never agreed with this theory simply because well, numbers. Even with 316mil in the U.S. there are still empty spaces, old uninhabited buildings, small islands with small populations etc..now most of the 316mil are dead- leaving zombies the biggest threat not small bands of people.) So the show really well details the kinds of things humans would have to contend with in a SHTF scenario, when there is not a shred of law or organization remaining- the good, bad, unexpected and ugly. It's just an amazingly put together A&E show (production, acting, character development and writing).

Huge fan of the show.

They already dealt with that- hence the machete and girl with the crossbow and other characters use knives. But you cant expect everyone to feel as comfortable with those weapons....the main character is a cop, using a gun is going to be a reflexive second nature to him.

They did also have heavier protection at certain points..remember this is the deep south, Georgia. You try walking around all day at a high stress level in riot gear and see if the sweat doesn't start interfering with your vision. Also, it's hard to hold onto stuff in this world.

I agree on the car thing. Definitely, I always imagined myself in a really juiced up van, very A Team style..except outfitted with (silent) weapons, machetes etc. It sucks they seem to keep losing their **** when they get overrun.

I don't think most people know much about gas pumps so they're not worried about those details.

lol about the fence....I thought that too but you have to be realistic. Where are they going to get materials for such a project, and the know-how to build a structurally strong fence with an opening to leave for resources? That would be a major building job where the majority of that chapter of the story they were trying to figure out whether or not they would, or could stay there. It made more sense to see the house itself as their fence. They never really seem to have enough time to stay still and figure **** out rationally and organize a well-thought out plan before some crisis happens, someone dies, **** gets crazy, they get overrun.

Sorry I really, really get into this show
