Just thought I'd pass along this personal experience.
In a long-time-ago Bugout Bag I had a dozen cyalume lightsticks -- six 12-hour yellows and six 8-hour whites. When my preparation plans changed, they got stored away and essentially forgotten. This week I re-discovered them. Their expiration dates were back in 2009, so they're four years out-of-date. Naturally I tried them anyway, just to see...
They still work, but are not nearly as bright or as long-lasting as their compatriots were when I first bought them around the turn-of-the-millenium. I don't know what y'all can, or will, do with the information. But here it is anyway.
That's good to know .
Not to bad compared to electric power lights . they have their place .
Mine are older than yours for sure , probably time to recycle them .
thanks.
