Headsup for anyone here who wishes to learn more about this topic: there will be a FREE online summit for anyone who wishes to sign up, with 30 presentations on topics such as gardening, aquaponics, raising chickens and rabbits, collecting rainwater, food preservation, and many other related topics.

Summit is from Monday April 6 through Sunday April 12, and I understand that there will be online videos (no DVDs) later for those who miss a presentation, or wish to review. Speakers include Joel Salatin, Marjory Wildcraft, John Jeavons, and other well-known people in the field. But you need to register to see this:

...and did I mention this is FREE? No more whining that you "don't know how!" Here's your chance to learn!

Cool

Also the Cooperative Extension Office [in every county nationwide] offers Master Gardener classes every spring-summer, starting real soon. Most Extension Offices also over-see community gardens in most cities.

Here in New England we have MOFGA that offers gardening / farming / foraging events every month. Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association

Yes, that is in mind for the not-too-distant future! Our produce is being grown organically, but we don't raise enough to sell...we have family in RI that we save the surplus for. Once we expand our poultry operations and add pigs to the mix, we'll have something to work worth!

Right now, my plate is full. I have the materials here for a larger hoop house; I can see that last fall was the best time to think of that. Oh well, live and learn. We have not yet been in Maine a full year, yet!
