We just got a generator....about 10 minutes before our power went back on. Decided to keep it anyway.

I mentioned on the 1880 thread that I had just gotten a Model 1873 Springfield carbine. I bought a Stevens Visible Loader .22 as well. I bought a book on the Springfield as well as a thousand .45-70 cases. I don't need that many; I'll sell what I don't need or use them for trade at shows.

At the ripe old age of seventy-one I've learned a neat trick to getng a better shave. I fill a small spray bottle with very hot water when I begin. Then, after holding a hot, wet washcloth on my face for a couple of minutes I apply the spray whenever it'sgetting dry and when I apply more shaving cream. In the past three months I've learned in general how to get a far better shave and save money at the same time.

I've learned that magazines for the 1903 Colt pocket auto that are marked with the caliber increase the value of the gun.

I bought 160# of cat litter which should arrive tomorrow. I maintain a half ton supply.

What have you acqquired or learned recently?

going through an EMT course presently and picked up 400 canning jars with lids and seals.

A 14 watt solar panel. Its got a fabric back, and folds into a small package. It works extremely well for what I want it for-keepng my kindle charged, and charging a bunch of lithium batteries.

4 more cans of mountain house food. Awesome taste, great shelf life.

Ketadyne water filter.

Those are the latest. Probably going to acquire more food.

Today at noon, I acquired more food; however, it was all gone in thirty minutes. I'll try again this evening around 6:30.

Now that you have acquired all that, judging by some of your recent posts and the stuff quoted above, I think also a visit to a shrink is in order!

I learned something about fishing while taking a bath.

When I lowered my head, neck and EARS under the water to soak my neck, I could still hear the music.
I realized... Hey, fish can hear you! So keep quiet when fishing close to shore or the boat.

I have acquired more food, a water filtration system that can make even polluted river water taste good and safe, and more silver.
I have learned we're in trouble, hence urgently acquiring the above.
Have also been reading up on fallout avoidance and survival methods.
Sweden, and other countries have shelters; we don't.

We used to back in the 1960's. Armageddon never happened so they went unused, fell into disrepair and abandoned.
if you're within 100 miles of a nuke going kaboom you're toast. If you're in the fallout zone you might not die right away, but you'll wish you had.
