Hi everyone,
I am looking for a book that provides a basic introduction to how simple, wheeled machines work, procedures for maintaining and repairing them, and also how the tools that fix them work. I am thinking specifically of mopeds, dirt bikes, lawn mowers, snow blowers, and maybe golf carts. I want an explanation too of why a cone wrench is used for certain jobs and not others. I am fine with coverage of gasoline or electric-powered machines. Can anyone recommend such a book?
Looks like a thinner version of a regular open-end wrench. Not to be used for high-torque work.
Lots of small engine repair books on Amazon and elsewhere. Google is your friend. Or maybe get a P/T job at a bicycle shop. Sometimes I'd wished I had done that!

Thanks for the link. That is an interesting resource. A lot of the books on Amazon seem focused on advanced practicioners. So I am hoping for a recommendation for a novice.
Not a book but why not a small engine repair class at a community college?
I'd be happy to take the class but I want to train myself up as much as can on my own first. I am busy with medical problems, kids, & work in any event.
