There's a lot of things you can do off the grid to make money...maybe start with a Laura Ingalls Wilder book and see what you'd like to build the old fashioned way. I'd consider honey bees as well.

However, I don't know of any trade where you cannot contact your customers or be unreliable. Even a lessor needs reliable contact information. Sorry, there's just no way around that.

There are many people selling paydirt, dirt with a guaranteed gold content for those who wish to pan gold but can't get to a place to pan because they live in the wrong part of the country, are disabled etc. The cheap stuff is on ebay. Some on youtube is far more expensive. You can buy the fine gold (fines) online to salt it. Dirt is free. Watch some gold panning videos to get an idea of the soil.

You won't get rich, but you'll have some money for grub with virtually no investment. Your Colorado address will draw them. It beats being a wage slave.
