The problem is that the movement you're referencing has intentionally excluded too much of the country. There simply aren't enough rural white folks anymore to sustain a national movement. Trump insulting the fastest growing portions of the country was a terrible decision if movement building was the goal.
My guess is that this movement fizzles out. There's a very good chance that the most insider of insiders gets elected tonight.
What's strange about this election is that many of Trump's policies, especially his tax plan, are not particularly favorable for the working man. Yet somehow he has developed a reputation as the working man candidate.
Hey, if you're fed up w/ welfare & paying other people's bills -- than vote Trump. He doesn't want to pay THEIR way. What problem have you w/ this? I agree about the list...except that the stock market went down so much, so fast, when it became apparent that Trump was winning, that they shut it down.

Amended to add: It was people of all colors, all faiths, all classes that put Trump over the top, including women and lots of "Democrats". This election was not about "rural white folks".
Further amended to add: I'm glad it's over. I hope to hear less about the "Tribulation", and nuclear war with Russia, and all the rest, now that there is much less uncertainty in peoples' minds.

I can't be sure, but I think what gave FL to Trump was the Cuban hispanic vote, which is typically Republican. No one knew how they'd vote. I think we know now.
Also, more women voted for Trump than was thought.

but the TV talking heads assured us the Republican Party was dead and all Trump could attract for votes was older white men
