I have access to the best doctors and dentists in the northest, which are some of the best in the US. Why would you think I do not? Because I choose to live in a rural area? You are truly misinformed.

I know very well who George Soros is. Do YOU know who he is? Or more importantly, do you know some of what he has done? How those things are affecting your life, your work, your wealth (or lack of it)? Or do you just know that he associates with the Clintons and other liberals? Perhaps YOU should do some research.

My comments went right over your head. Where did I say you don't CURRENTLY have access to good healthcare, I didn't. I asked what do you plan on doing when you need a doctor and you're holed up somewhere? Now what?

Do you plan on taking a few doctors along with you? What is your plan if you need medical care when you're living in the woods after a SHTF scenario?

Clearly, I know about Soros or I wouldn't have mentioned his name. I didn't just learn about him last month.

I notice how you didn't answer my question as to what is a working person who say is a few years away from retirement supposed to do? Just quit their job and move to a remote area?

As I said, I bet you're retired. It's easy to tell people to just relocate when you don't have a job to do or a family to provide for.

Only losers spend their lives working for someone else. I received my last paycheck when I was twenty-four; that was forty-nine years ago.

This is the S-S & P forum. We never retire. I was up all night election night, first short, and then long on stock futures. It was a merry time.

I sold my successful business of 35 years in 2012. For 3 years now I have raised turkeys, chickens, ducks and geese for commercial and personal use, and this past year I have raised hogs. I am up at 4:30 am every day, as livestock don't recognize weekends or holidays, rain, snow, or high temperatures.

I have a wife of 42 years, 2 daughters with husbands, and 6 grandchildren from age 7 to 19. My daughters married hard-working guys, but they do not own businesses. I have paid for 4 of my grandchildren to attend private parochial schools; the daughter who is mom to the other 2 refused my offer.

Part of the reason I raise all the meat, poultry and vegetables I do is to see that my daughters and grandchildren have as good a diet as possible. They were all eating plenty of junk not so long ago.

So yeah, I guess you could say that I still work, and I have quite a lot of family to provide for.

The unfortunate thing is that money and power have become more important than people, who have no purpose other than being useful consumers of the junk being marketed to them. It is not a matter of inflation. We are in a deflationary spiral, and will continue down that road until we reach the nadir. Thus I speak of depression. In the 1930s most people did not recognize what was happening, while it was happening. They just called it "hard times", and that is what we're beginning to see now. Many do not realize that during the Great Depression, many ordinary folks who still had a job, didn't even know there was a depression!

We have social safety nets today that didn't exist in the 1930s. Today's bread lines are invisible; SNAP or EBT cards hide the poverty in America. SSDI and unemployment insurance hide the rising tide of employment non-participation. These are not "entitlements" so much as a necessary flotation of the affected populations to keep the system going.

Thus I speak of socialism, as it tends to rear its ugly head during hard times. Prosperity is the only real cure for socialism; the political system can't banish it.

And thus I speak of civil war, as those who find a life of economic depression and a rising tide of socialism to be insufferable, will rebel against what they perceive to be the cause - money paid to minorities, jobs given to immigrants, and obscene profits taken by the corporate sector that hides its money overseas. This leads to accusations of bigotry and xenophobia.

Talk about "draining the swamp"! Our whole economy needs to be purged, scrapped. It is based on borrowed money that can never be repaid. That's the only way they could keep it propped up. When the whole heap collapses under its own weight, many innocent people will be swept up in the devastaion.

Thus I speak to those who would prepare, who would survive: it is here, it is now, get your shyt together and do what you know needs to be done. Don't get caught in the way of this tsunami.

The question is how to do it. They have everything on tap. Funding, a few phone calls on who wants to make money....who's getting included in the deal. Debt financing to round the numbers...no problem. Entire supply chain....check. Need extra help from overseas....hang on we're getting tickets.

Managing billions of dollars....on QuickBooks. No disclosures. No worries. If we lose, we get them back on something else...but we never lose. Relationships override all. Profits kept in favors. Get us enough information for the tax return...we don't want problems and they don't lie. How about the investors....don't worry about the investors....I take care of the investors....and he does. Every time. Even with the one-off loans to distant relatives....that aren't relatives at all. The books are totally straight, but aren't the real statement of record. The only thing cared about are a set of favors.

And, it's not breaking any laws. It's the cleanest tax compliance set of books I've seen in over a decade. Far from executives raiding the closet, they don't even pay themselves aside from upside on projects on exit, as agreed.

The focus is 100% on execution....and when you strip out all the corporate bs. No PR, HR, Finance, Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain Management etc etc etc....these guys are geniuses. They came up short in one thing and ran into problems. I get in, briefly. The integrity level is through the roof.

Imagine if they get interested in agriculture here. Every auction they can bid up. The price of crops pushed down. I mean, China has trillions of dollars. They have their own workers. They have their own supply chain.

Our regulation won't save us. If they have corruption, it's not allowed on the front line. There's nothing enforcing it, but being out of favor would be bad for someone. Not sure how it all works, but if they're smart, all they need is for all of our awesome IP developers to run out of money to start putting together some legitimately constructed IP masterworks.

I think the SHTF scenario needed is going to be a social network, one with a deeper supply chain and strong people that are good. The innocents need to step up their respective games and cooperate.

Total Agreement Mode On

Regardless of the paths taken by individuals, whether to withdraw consent or to remain on the sinking socialist pirate ship of state, there are unpleasant events on the horizon (gross understatement flag on). There is a limit, undefined as it may be, past which a society cannot remain united in defense against predation. . . especially when the predators infiltrate the government.

. . . At some point, the conflict between the recipient class and the donor class will erupt into violence, as each seeks to secure their needs, or defend their property from expropriation.
The last election was the result of that conflict - where the donor class sought "tax relief" no matter the candidate - and the recipient class's outrage and rebellion over imminent reduction in money and privilege is evident.

. . . You would be wise to devote as much as you can to establishing a means to endure a protracted period of upheaval and breakdown in civil order, as well as the resupply of fuel, food, and other necessities. Seek out allies and form bands, because solo survival is not going to make it.

A very good and succinct account of the forces at work here.

It always seems to come down to money and privilege, or money and power....at any rate, money. In times of prosperity, we can afford to indulge the vampire class; in hard times, we cannot. The vampire class and their political apologists want the gravy train to run endlessly, regardless.

Socialism does not run on endlessly.
