It's legal to buy body parts in interstate commerce. I've seen human skulls and full skeletons for sale. Even in leftist modern times not everything is against the law.
I have my doubts that this is a real thing, especially in CA where running a salad bar without a sneeze guard can get you practically put away for life!
Its ok in CA, as long as the humans were free-range.
If the meat comes from China, you can be almost sure it's not what it says it is. People who eat meat from China are asking for it. Not because of what species it is, but because you have no idea what chemicals are in the seasonings and preservatives. There have been cases where some of the stuff they put in food for export has been poison. Compared to that, lying about the species is no big deal.
But I will say, if true I certainly hope we are processing domestic and not importing yet another product line from China!
Could be domestic. Who knows what ultimately happens to all those baby body parts that are sold out of abortion clinics! If you use a bit of transglutaminase to glue them all together one might be able to muster up a full steak-like piece of meat. Or use the tiny bits separately for a 'tasting menu' (where the portions are traditionally very small).
True or not, I'll tell you one thing. If I'm ever in a California Steakhouse with the table next to me eating the same thing I ordered, and someone says "Would You Please Pass The Prepper" I'm outta there...
