Not at all. It's recipes using stored foods, some of which are canned, but most are not.

An interesting little tome is Apocalypse Chow for the survivalist gourmet. A nearly forgotten but neat trail food book that's useful off the trail as well is Gorp, Glop, and Glue Stew—it's worth it for the chocolate fudge recipe alone. Mastering the Art of French Cooking, Vols. I & II belongs in every survivalist's library. If I could only have one cookbook this would be the one. Buy the hardback. It's amazing what this woman could do with the simplest foods.
