With my good employer vision insurance that costs me only $1.00/pay period I get new glasses every two years. The prescription has only very minor changes each time, so keeping the old ones, I have about 7 pairs that are still very usable if I lose or break the current ones.

I have found Zenni Optical to be the best value out of the places I've tried. Payne Glasses might be a better value, I have not tried them yet. You can use a search engine to get free online vision tests.

While cheapest online offerings (e.g. 2 for $20!) are definitely not as fashionable as more expensive glasses, and don't come with the fancy coatings (unless you pay +$15 for the add-on), they are functional, and at that price you can have a pair in every car, boat, and BOB.

During the COVID lockdown I received orders from both 39dollarglasses and goggles4u, both took about 10 days from ordering to delivery, I ordered online the day after I got my prescription and placed an order at a local shop, and the online orders arrived first!

Note that goggles4u does most of their production in Thailand and Pakistan, while 39dollarglasses imports frames but states their lens production and assembly is all in Long Island, NY

I was never into "fashion" glasses. Up until last year my vision was so bad that two pair of coke bottle glasses for $69.95 could last me a few years. Then I had cataract surgery (brand new lenses implanted) and I needed only slight corrections for several purposes.

Zenni (online) got good review and a placed an order. I got 5 pair for $75. Two reading (one at my desk and one in the bedroom) for $6.95 each, one for the computer $6.95, one for night time driving $11.90 and a pair of sun glasses for daytime use $34.90. Add shipping (cheap) and bob's your uncle.

That was last December and all of the glasses are still holding up well.

I don't recall where Zenni's are manufactured or assembled and don't much care as long as they are inexpensive and are of good quality. And the staff was very helpful in making sure the prescription was interpreted properly and the order placed. I think delivery took about a week or so.
