OK, in keeping with the (mostly) tongue in cheek cannibalism thread, it seems I/we were just ahead of our time.
Apparently somebody has figured out a way to grow human steaks from your own cells. Which sounds pretty gross actually, but posting the story for the educational value for preppers. So if you aren't a cannibal (yet) please don't chew me out.
Within few years we should see human meat culturing as a great stride in self-sufficiency. The overall results will be wonderful. For example, grazing land will become centers of native plants an animals. Rural real estate prices will drop, allowing great increases in estate size.
I cannot believe some one is still banging on about this.
there are various reasons why we dont eat our own species, apart from the ethical and moral implications there are the medical ones, eating human flesh can cause:
Hepatitis, Ebola, HIV, Syphilis, it will also cause serious constipation so if you like pooping dont do it!

`Nonsense! You have no evidence and nothing to cite. There is evidence of constipation from any diet with a large amount of protein.
Why not tell us about cannibalism in your country? Nanking was once well-known for restaurants serving human meat.
whats Nanking got to do with it, I'm in the UK.
there is evidence of the medical consequences of eating human flesh, you just have to look for it, I dont see why I have to do it for you.
if any prepper resorts to cannibalism they have failed as a prepper.

Not from eating cultured meat. In order to catch Hepatitis, Ebola, Syphilis, the meat would have to come from a sick human (or sick ape). Test tubes don't catch diseases, so cultured meat would be disease free,
I don't see the point of it, though. If they can culture human meat, they can culture beef and that would make more economic sense.
Meat tends to taste like the animal smells and humans are just about the nastiest smelling creatures on the face of the earth. I suspect that human meat isn't very appetizing.
Most likely that culturing human flesh is more about growing replacement organs, which would be a great boon to those waiting on transplant lists.
