very true but that is for the short run. the people that are left to greet you when you come out will be much worse than the ones than when you hide. ask the super dome survivors.

Hiding in a bunker with a huge stockpile will just make you a tempting target if it all does come down. Better to put your efforts in building alliances with your neighbors. Still get extra food, water, ect for hard times but ditch the hiding in a hole part. No one will survive a collapse alone, you need to have lots of friends working together if you want to make it.

I really don't see us going into "mad max" mode even if the government collapsed. The majority of people (even in america) would not run wacky in the streets trying to eat each other, unless we get one of those Hollywood zombie viruses. Just keep as many eyes out as you can for that 10% who will (and have been ever since they have been people around)

Frugal's Forums Archive 2001-2006: Thoughts on Urban Survival. COMPLETE !! A MUST READ FOR ALL SQUIRRELS!!!

This website has been posted before, it is a very good reference to what will happen. Ferfal is in Argentina and the SHTF in 2001. He gives first hand accounts of what is need to survive and goes into great detail.

it's all about the trigger!!!!!!! do you remember the rodney king trial and all the rioting over the verdict.. and iceland rioting a model economy... there is rioting happening all over the world guadalupe is rioting over high food prices....nothing is infailible!!! it's all about sooner or later!!!! 5 years ago if you told someone that all the finacial markets were going to fail they would have laughed at you.... ask that same guestion now and you will get a totally different opinion... the bigger you are the harder you fall!!! the real question is whats going to be the trigger to set off a catastrophic chain reaction.. in my opinion its all ready started and the clock is ticking... tick tick tick tick

I guess if all of us read the scriptures we would know what is coming. Alliances with families and people that believe the same as you will help but may not be the final cue.

I am looking for a piece of ground in the mountains. Trees etc. all around while my home will be built into the mountain thus cool in summer and warm in winter. Dehydrated food, seeds, knowing how to plant and reap a harvest and a lot of water plus how to obtain water off the land will be my option for our brief survival.

Many of the people I have talked to on this issue, simply plan to find folks that have stock piled, and then confiscate their stores. Reality of the Jungle I guess. As for myself, I plan on just kickin back with a cold brew, and watchin it all take place. I do have a can of tuna fish stashed back though. ---
