Don't think I'll be hiring SilverOne as my financial adviser anytime soon.

My 401K has gained about 30%

Right now social unrest seems more of a threat than a financial meltdown. We have managed to raise an entire generation wherein socialism is the preferred system of college students.

The numbers of responsible people are decreasing while the numbers of unhinged are increasing.

There are few ways that this has a happy ending. The good news and the bad news is that the system may lurch forward for another couple decades. Some would prefer a faster reboot but reboots often yield even more monstrous results.

I'm keeping an eye on the market as I'm not sure if it will continue its trajectory or for how long.
Global markets are not doing well at all, and will probably do worse in the future.
Ours will chug along swimmingly for the next few months (barring some massive disaster or nuclear attack) but there is a correction on the horizon. Maybe in a year or two. Or three. Eventually.

I think you see things very clearly here.

Our system is designed to degrade gracefully, at least to a point.
We did come within a hairs breadth of a global meltdown twice
in the past 10 years. But any miss, is a miss. Only hits count.

Iceland also suffered during the global meltdown of 2008. Instead of bailing out the bankers who caused it, they tossed their collective rear ends in jail. Their recovery time was shorter, it was real, and did not create an unserviceable debt balloon.

Trump has plenty of faults but he is trying to save the economy. His "reward" is unprecedented efforts to destroy him and everything he tries to get done.

People will freely attack Trump and he is certainly as human as the next megalomaniacal billionaire. Is he more flawed than most of our POTOS's? If people only knew the dark secrets of JFK, Johnson, Reagan, Clinton, Bush Sr, Bush Jr etc.

Well, we couldn't really do that, since it was the Socialists in our own government that set our bankers up for failure. It was over regulation for political purposes, more than greed that caused problems for our banks.

It isn't hard to trace the networks, those who are trying to destroy Trump are working for those who are trying to destroy America. They either work for them willingly, or in the case of fools, work for them unwittingly. Either way, it is largely their efforts that make me stash away more beans and ammo.

One thing I'm very curious to see is what are the un-intended effects/consequences of all the major stock brokers using algorithms controlling buying and selling and with instant orders via microwaves that once there is some significant volatility in the market if a series of events may line up causing a cascading effect of all the major brokers system AI default selling of stocks once a pre established threshold is crossed triggering a "flash crash"

Its something I've wondered that I've seen very little discussing or even suggesting its possible. Its all relatively new since the 2008 recession that I wonder how this newer more autonomous system will behave under similar circumstances.

Yes, but you may need sunscreen, or an umbrella, depending on where you are.

There are "circuit breakers" (points are which trading is suspended) that slow flash crashes (which may happen from time to time) to allow human intervention.
