There's more likely dangers than 2012, as I see it, to be prepared in case of.

Eventually, something bigger then 911 WILL happen. It's just a matter of time, place and extent. Homeland security? TSA screening? It's all a smoke screen. It's to let people feel better. Just take a close look the next time your going through TSA. Look at the caliber of people working. They are just people with chips on their shoulders, because they have a small amount of power. It's a complete joke. All they do is harass people to take off shoes, jackets and belt buckles. Take all laptops out of the cases, yadda, yadda, yadda.
Is it possible that TSA could stop another terrorist attack, sure. However, it's more likely they will not stop one. They need better technology, then people standing at medal detectors and sitting at xray machines. What IS the answer? Preparation. Prepare by having emergency supplies, having a plan for all family members.
IMO, the next attack will involve multiple locations throughout the USA. It will strain the emergency resources on all government levels and create mass havoc. Think of the WTC, but in ten, twenty or thirty locations, not one.
To be honest, I surprised something has not happened since 9/11/01.
