What wasn't mentioned was time or location. It will be at the Los Angeles Convention Center, and goes from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. According to the website, there will be a lunch break, as well.
Another thing that wasn't mentioned is who is promoting this event. Even the "contact us" page doesn't mention this.
It sounds interesting, and if I'm able, I may try to attend in the afternoon (after church). I may even talk some of my friends into going, too.
They should have a good turnout. Every local, state, and federal police agency within a hundred miles will have an observer or two there. Say "Cheese". They'll actually be even more interested in license plates, but they have the manpower to do it all.

I'm sure that with the new automatic license plate reader technology that is now in use, it won't be hard for them to collect whatever data they are looking for. What's interesting is that the California Democratic Party is having an event there on the same day. I don't know how that would affect the gathering of license plate data, but I am sure it would throw a wrench into things.
It's a bit off topic, but I found it humorous that the weekend prior, the Sheriff of L.A. County is having an advisory council banquet there at the same time that there is a "medical marijuana" meeting.
I went to a preparedness expo many years ago in Denver. Even the local TV media was there, looking for "militia types". Place was probably well covered by FBI as well.
You should include how much parking will be. It is usually ten bucks at the convention center.
I believe that is set by the Convention Center, not the promoters of the shows. Ten dollars sounds about right for what the Convention Center charges, though I haven't been there in quite a long time. Back when I worked there part time, the parking was free!
