I haven't found this to be the case with me. The Cutter brand sucks but Off! active (the type that's very greasy and doesn't sweat off) is very effective. I spend hours outdoors playing sports or sitting on my patio smoking (I refuse to smoke in my house). My house is 1 block from a creek so we have LOTS of mosquitos. If you don't put on repellent they will eat you alive, but with Off! active on, they don't bother me at all. I'd buy the stuff by the case if I could.

BOSE speakers are actually pretty crappy and based on 1970 technology. The enclosures the crappy speakers sit in are a different story. Although there is nothing new about a 4th-order bandpass box or waveguides it is known that a great enclosure can make a crappy speaker sound good and that's what BOSE does and you'll pay for the engineering. BOSE speakers emit a sound that the average person loves but a true audiophile who possesses a 548 band equalizer and a laptop dedicated just for tuning will hate it.
