If you're looking to get the most value for your dollar, it would do your wallet good to check out secondhand options. Many used goods still have plenty of life left in them even years after the original purchase, and they're usually resold at a fraction of the retail price, to boot. Here's a list of 21 things that make for a better deal when you buy them used.

I appreciate the article but only to a certain extent. While I do buy used cds once in awhile, I prefer to buy new ones and have the profits go to directly to the artists' share. I prefer to support the economy. But resale is also a good way to get rid of unwanted things like that (although I just turn them in to Goodwill).

I buy both new and used. Depends on the item and the deal.
