I bought a sweater and a few other things from Old Navy. Most things were on sale, but the sweater was not. It was $49.50. I ordered it last Friday, and it arrived on Tuesday. Now the same sweater is on sale (of course) for $20. I'm thinking of returning it in the store and buying two sweaters.
What do you think: ethical or unethical?
Edited: Sorry about the typo in the poll. I don't know how to fix it.

Show them the receipt, explain that it's on sale (which will show up when they scan it) and bring in the sweater, they'll likely give you a price adjustment (credit your credit card), I dont see a problem

Of course it's ethical. I don't see why you'd think otherwise. As long as the sweater is in new, unused condition...why not?
I do it too, i.e. return an item if it goes on sale almost immediately after I purchase it. It pisses me off when that happens and as a consumer I feel entitled to seek the best deal as long as I return everything in brand-new condition. I am not the type to wear clothes without cutting the tags off, for example. THAT is unethical.
I don't know what troubled me about doing it. I just felt like I was pulling a fast one on them or something. I decided last night to look around their website and see if there was specific wording that said I shouldn't do this, and I found something great!

Can I get a price adjustment for an online purchase? Yes, we offer a one-time price adjustment if an item is marked down within fourteen (14) days of your order date. Simply call 1-800-OLDNAVY, or send us an email message at custserv@oldnavy.com within the fourteen (14) day window. We'll refund you the difference in your original form of payment.
So I called and spoke with one of the nicest customer service reps I've had in a long time. She happily refunded the difference back to my credit card, so I don't even need to go to the store.

Ethical very much! They should give you the difference!
Good for you! You didn't even wear it, so I don't see the problem. My daughter knows a schoolmate who regularly buys special occasion clothes, wears them with the tag inside and then returns them the next day. Unethical is an understatement for that behavior! Ugh!!!
