So two or so years ago I got a 'free' credit report. The information I got was free to find the company trying to subtract $15 a month from me as a subscription.

Does anyone know where I can get a free (if not free, a one time fee) credit report? I need it to be accurate and such.

I know a bunch of laws changed starting in 2011, maybe someone could educate me a bit!

You can get free credit report yearly.
Make sure you have plenty of time to register ( 2 hrs?), but as soon you register, the next log in is easy. You just need to remember all the answers for the security questions.

Here's my old thread about getting free credit reports and paying for the scores:

creditkarma.com offers a credit score for free. You can check it as many times as you want. I believe it is called fake fico. A guesstimate of sorts. When I purchased my new car I checked credit karma first, then had the CU pull my score. Credit karma was off by 50 points.

Yes, you can get a free credit report yearly via https://www.annualcreditreport.com. What I do is request one every four months from a different source: i.e., Experian in January, TRW in May, the last one in Sept.
P.S. Thanks for creditkarma. I'll check it out.
