Gain original. I no longer use the pods, but when I did, I punctured each one 3 times with a small nail. I like the liquid version of Gain, and use the powdered ONLY for household cleaning, not laundry.

It keeps BLACK very BLACK. Moreso then even those that are specifically formulated to keep dark clothes dark.

Also, Mas Oscura. I like the scent, and it also keeps black clothing black, but it's not as good as Gain, in my opinion. It has an excellent scent.

ADD-IN for washing: Purex "Baby" scent crystals, and also the one with an Orange on the container.

My wife has tried a lot and always comes back to tide for the cleaning and their HE is better than original on stains.

I really don't care as long as it is unscented. Some laundry soaps has a smell that makes me nauseous.

Can someone tell me if original Cheer still exists? They changed so much with scents these days I can't stand them. Too perfume-y. I'd prefer my clothes not to smell like detergent in my drawers.

I have been using Kirkland's Ultra Clean pacs for almost a year and like this detergent as much as I liked Tide. My clothes are never really dirty so it doesn't matter what I use as long as I don't have an allergic reaction. I also use their fabric softener and find it much better than Downy, which always clogs in my washer.

Purex, Arm & Hammer, Ajax- whichever is on best sale. Liked the Kirkland all knockoff as well.

The cheapest I can find. It's all mostly water anyway.

I use Sun, its fairly inexpensive and smells very good. Use to use tied but is to pricey so looked for alternative.

I just tried Persil. I will definitely purchase it again, works and smells much better than the liquid Tide I had been using.
