That's great but such a shame it took so long.
And has still not been achieved by most stores. 2012, time for people to accept that we don't all fit the one size fit all "relationship" mould. For a start you would think there would be quite a market to seize if you are a good business person....
I was really dismayed a while back by an advert for "Sandals" resort on British TV which had a " mixed sex couples only"policy ( also seen on posters). The ads were banned eventually for being anti discriminatory but I could not fathom what the big deal was for this company to accept Gay couples ? The mind boggles.
I must have missed the memo that Gay is contagious and you get Gay "cooties" from having to share the same leirsure environment....
It seems to me a lot of companies are excluding people and missing out on "the Pink Pound" as it is colloquially known as in the UK.
Also it alienates a lot of straight people like myself who not only would now never go to a Sandals resort but advise anyone I know against it. I have Gay friends and if they are not good enough for a place then that place is not good enough for me to spend money on either. I vote with my wallet and will boycott companies with discriminating and exclusive policies.
Hopefully in a couple of decades ( I realise how naive I am as I type this !!!) there will not even be an issue about Gay people on our society and they will be fully integrated and embraced as simply a different group.
