Soda Stream?? (store, expensive, buy, Amazon)

Has anyone used this product? I like sodas but I am picky about the taste. I like Diet Coke but none of the non brands taste like it to me. I have thought about buying one but would like to taste it first. What are your opinions of this product?

We used Soda Club several years ago (don't know if it's the same company just renamed), and the soda was pretty decent. The ability to mix flavors and the variety of flavors they had was interesting and fun. I also primarily drink diet cola, and was able to adjust from DC to theirs pretty easily.

The problem with it was that the CO2 was so expensive, it was about the same cost as buying two liter bottles of store-bought stuff. I don't know what this new (or renamed) company is charging, but that should be the first thing you check if you're considering it for it's value.

try the Fizz Giz (search for that on amazon.com and read the comments) it's what I use, and you use "food grade" 16g CO2 cartridges (I buy those from amazon.com too), the CO2 is very inexpensive compared to Soda Stream, and it carbonates "better than store-bought" with no aftertaste at all...so it's same quality at much lower cost (for me what costs say $3 at the store costs me less than $1, so it's about a 75% savings).

Thanks I will check those out. I just wondered about the taste. I will check the costs of the co2.
If it is expensive then it wouldn't make sense to buy one.
