Approximately 900,000 General Electric branded 12-cup digital coffee makers are being recalled, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Walmart announced.
Walmart still is selling these defective GE coffee makers. We bought one in Valdosta GA the first of March 2013. Yesterday we woke to burning smell and it had fried. Went to the store yesterday to return it (didn't know about the recall) and was going to get the same model. Only the display one was in stock and salesperson said she showed it was now discontinued. Two years after the recall? Very irresponsible of Walmart. If we weren't home, the house could have burned down. I plan to hire a lawyer.
