This is apparently why it is vitally important that you have a Business Degree before anyone will hire you to do anything in this country. This is PROOF that educated peoples are more intellectual, better speakers, have better people skills, and are all around just better human beings than those of us who do not possess said degree.....
Seriously, this woman has something misfiring in her brain cells and needs to get a life. As if it was not bad enough that she treated the employees like crap - her attempt to engage innocent victims/customers into her drama was ridiculous. This is the kind of crap that gets out of hand, results in frivolous lawsuits wasting both time and money, and occasionally results in fights resulting in bodily injury or death. She is an instigator, a I feel really bad for anybody who has the misfortune of having to deal with this gal in real life (a recording was bad enough!!). Kudos to the staff at Dunkin Donuts for their professional demeanor and calm. Isn't technology WONDERFUL?????
Unfortunately, this "customer" is becoming more of the norm - the expectation that service employees are sub-human and are supposed to bow down and kneel to someone just because they threw $5 at them.
The death of the customer came before the "death of customer service"
My Mom must have been weird - she taught us as kids that we were NOT "better" or "above" wait people, cashiers, tellers, etc. and you treat them with respect.

Its become the norm in certain cities, but not nationally.

That statement, and your location, reminded me of this (unfortunately, I can't remember the source):
"The South, a place where 80-year-old men say "Yes, ma'am." to 16-year-old waitresses."
