Sad and bizarre story, but I couldn't help but chuckle a bit because I'm sure most of us guys can relate. But jeez, I've never thought about taking it this far!

The wonders of the western capitalist society have fully reached China. Shop til you drop.

I definitely sympathize. I wouldn't go that far but it would end the pain.

Wow...that's just sad. I am a woman and I absolutely HATE to shop and you will never see me at the mall. This poor man was good enough not only to go along with her, but 5 hours - that's just ridiculous. And to argue over shoes no less. I sure hope it was worth it to her. Not to mention, now she'll have to go shopping for something to wear to the funeral, and a casket, and flowers, and all that other stuff.

Well obviously he had more issues than a dislike of shopping. Clearly some other issues going on. You can't blame the girlfriend for this surely

I certainly understand his despair, it's too bad that there wasn't a bar close enough to get to in time oh, and while I didn't read the link, I do blame the girlfriend

Not blaming her....but I do think 5 hours of shopping is asking a lot of anybody. He may well have had more going on than we will ever know - he may not have even intended to kill himself - just maybe make a scene and perhaps break a leg or something just to demonstrate how desperate he was to make her stop shopping and wasting money. He was obviously not in a rational state of mind - and I doubt it was premeditated on his part - just a stunt gone horribly wrong - the consequences of which have nowhere else now to rest but partly upon her package laden shoulders.

as much as possible we do all our shopping online anymore. so many places let you return so the comfort of trying clothes on at home is very convenient. about the only thing we shop in person for is shoes.
