What's something you just bought online or are thinking of buying soon?

Me.... picked up some ink cartidges on eBay for a new Canon printer (that was not bought on-line).

Looking at winter jackets which are being discounted now.

Bought some new snow boots, a new replacement hose for my Dyson, and a doo-dad that lets me know when the mailman has finally been here (tired of trekking 4-5 times out to the box when it's below zero outside). Shop on Amazon a LOT - also LL Bean and Lands End.

That's interesting and something I could use. Was it this one? And how's it working out so far?

Hanna Mail Chime Wireless Mail Delivery Alert System

p.s. ok. just did a search for 'mail alert' and see that there are several types at varying prices.

Mattress, laser cartridge, electronic part that I could spend weeks hunting for, 2 Terabyte backup drive. Saved probably $300 on those items alone.

(I had one of those mail alert things in Florida - the box was close enough to the house that it worked great. The couple we sold to wanted it so much that they were drooling over it.)

Six pack of deodorant for my girlfriend.

Seriously.

Both the grocery store and Wal*Mart were out of stock, so I ordered a six pack of it through the Amazon app on my phone while we finished shopping.

Prior to that, 16lb of bird seed.

I wonder what the AIs that try to predict shopping habits are going to do with you, Swagger. Six pack of deodorant and 16 lbs of bird seed. I'll bet there is great anticipation on what you will order next. I have a vision of a giant parakeet with a basso profundo voice going "CHEEP CHEEP"

The one I got is called Mail Alert by SnapUp and it works for all types of mailboxes. Ours is a Rubbermaid and some of them won't work properly - this one is supposed to but I don't have it installed yet because 1) I just got it Saturday and I still can hardly reach the mailbox because it's surrounded by about 3x3 foot of compacted ice and snow. Also, I intend to drill holes and mount it but I can't find the 1/8 inch nuts/bolts/washers here at the house that I need so I need to pick some up. It came with mounting tape but I doubt it will stick very long with as cold as it gets around here (was -45 windchill this time last week). The temp has to be above 50 before you can install the tape - and it hasn't been. 2) I didn't want to spend $30 or $40 for the battery kind just cause I'm too cheap for that. I can see this yellow "flag" from my kitchen window - once I get this thing installed. Our mailperson comes anywhere between 11AM and 7PM, and last week I found 2 pieces of mail outside the box on top of the snow pile by our box. The box was not hit, other mail was in the box, no idea what was going on. I have been bundling up 4 or 5 times a day and checking for the mail - which is ridiculous. If I'm busy in the front part of the house or in the kitchen I can hear the truck, but if I'm downstairs or cleaning or something, I can't. This will save me lots of frustration!!!

Just bought a replacement dock connector and back cover from Amazon to fix my GF's iPhone 4s, along with a couple HDMI cables and a screen protector for my Nexus 7.
